The universities in Scotland need students from other countries(england included) as they have to pay tuition fees that scottish dont and add to the budget of the university.Quite a lot of the academic staff are also from overseas.Maybe we dont have enough talented individuals in the uk I dont know.

It was Alex Salmond who put this millstone round the necks of the universities in Scotland when he stated that ‘hell would freeze over’ before he would charge tuition fees for Scottish students.
Now there are less places for Scottish residents attending universities in Scotland because they need to charge top dollar to students from outwith Scotland to balance their books.
