I'm all for your idea of getting them in early. They must have a priority list and be all geared for the action.

The sooner they are in and settled and working together with the squad remaining the better.

I used to cringe at Fatso Ashley's methods of leaving it to the very last minute to scrape up some scraps on the cheap.

It was proved season after season to be a failure.

I wasn't always a failure Pat, it was only a failure when we got relegated. The transfers lard a$$ made were not to progress the club as we fans wanted or any progressive ambitious club engages in.

The transfer window was to ensure he spent as little money to ensure we remained in the Premier League so he could peddle his poor quality trash and promote his retail sweatshop.

So from his perspective it was a complete success. Minimum effort and expense for maximum return on investment.

Not what fans want to hear but that's what most clubs do these days outside of the cartel. The introduction of the EUFA conference League, 3rd tier of European football was introduced to give the also rans like West Ham and Previously us, some glimmer of hope of success.

However, Palace, Everton, Fulham regardless of single season successes, clubs of that ilk buy to sell and remain in the division. Beyond that and a decent domestic cup run there is nothing, no progress to be made under the current rules set and constrains brought in to restrict and control. Glad to see Spurs and the Red Filth joining those no hopers, exactly where they belong.

They were both mid-table no ones before the Prem. The have returned from whence they came. Good riddence!

    Hurraayy.
Just watching the Arsenal game on tv and the (Brazilian) commentator has just said it wont be easy for anyone to get Isak from Newcastle, especially if we manage CL.
    Someone gets it, finally.

In Eddie's presser he said that it was just a precaution so knowing Eddie Isak won't play against Leicester. I expect Wilson to start on Monday...

Another Monday night match. We're now box office so 7 of our remaining 9 matches are televised, shifting us to a Monday night away fixture is so unfair of the stalwart, diehard travelling Toon Army away faithful.

We always take a full compliment to away fixtures. Final whistle is 10pm, 30 mins to get out of the stadium and back to the car. It's a 3hr20m journey at the speed limit.

Those lads won't get back to Newcastle after the match around 2am. Great when you're at work on Tuesday. Thanks Sky Sports!

Same, although I'd like to see Osalu start myself.

I dont honestly think hes ready to start in the Prem yet but he should be brought on near the end of the matches for Isak to see out the game instead of Wilson for two reasons:
    - Wilson offers no danger recently and so hasnt provided enough for the opposition to worry about re counter attacks. That means they can push up and pressure us with little fear.
    - Osula isnt the finished article but hes fast and in your face. Id be less inclined to push up if I was a CB and he was standing next to me than Wilson (who I know I could easily out pace).
