I wasn?t at the FGR game nor saw it but we rarely go short on corners anymore. The contrast form last season?s corners to this is stark. No way anybody hasn?t seen that change. This season when losing in the end and we get a corner we put it in the box. So no longer a valid complaint.

I agree that we don?t try something completely different and launch it into the box and send a Marty Platt up there in the closing stages when losing. Wouldn?t be opposed to it but the coaches trust the process that has had success over 90 min games. Frustrating to some sure but understandable.

You would hope the team reflects the manager or head coach, would be strange it it didn?t. How well they combined are performing is conveniently reflected in the league table

My argument being, is that we never seem to exert ourselves in the closing stages when we are losing..

your argument seems to be that because we passed back from ONE corner in the last minute of ONE meaningless last game of the season a full year ago, that Notts "NEVER seem to exert ourselves in the closing stages." Is that right?

eta: I do remember the moment. It was not our finest, but to think one meaningless corner defines SM's Notts is a bit silly even for you, no?

How do work that one out. I was merely giving an example of the way we play when losing a game towards the end... And yes, we do not have anyone in the team who at the death busting a gut to rescue a point. We continue to play the same way throughout the whole 90 minutes. If you see different, then i can only assume your either listening to the radio, or just making it up..

I don't necessarily disagree, but the example you gave was ONE game, a year ago, with a hugely different team, on the last game of the season with nothing to play for. So no, it doesn't make the point you think it does.

I've said before on here that I think we're still missing a Bishop/Roy Keane (Robertson?) type who might do more of what you're saying. That doesn't mean that going headless chicken when we're 0-1 down in the last 10 will actually get us more points.

Am i reading this correctly that this season we score more after 81 mins than we concede? Unlike last season.

And overall this season we are net positive in terms of goals for and against in last 10 mins whereas last season we were comfortably at a net loss?

If so, that a clear change and not surprising seeing as we have performed better this season. Progression.

definitely progress on last year. But that's probably in spite of Maynard's best efforts to make us worse!

Season stats don't tell the whole story though. Like our goals conceded in the first 10 - the numbers are high but they refer to phase we went through which Maynard basically fixed and we've hardly conceded 1 in the fist 10 since Xmas if I'm not wrong.

You really do talk twaddle, the last ten minutes of the crewe home game we threw the kitchen sink at them, Colchester was difficult but I've never seen the players give up putting effort in the last 10 minutes of games for a long time
