Perhaps the other mods could have a quiet word.

"other mods could have a quiet word"?? You're having a laugh - next you will expect a London Bus to be discovered on the moon. or a World War 2 bomber.

The answer is, I think, restraint on all our parts (and I know its very difficult as I am prone to reacting too!). Whenever any of this Blatteaic drivel begins to pollute a thread, then the rest of us should simply not respond. If you simply have to - just use the little blue face symbol to register dissent.

Ultimately, starved of the oxygen of attention, the threads will cease to be filled up wit

The only way to stop the nonsense is for people to ignore the principal problem poster.

That would be a pity, we need more intelligent if heated debate on here, not less.

I resolve to give up trying to argue the toss with rat, its pointless, he isn't interested in debate he is just trying to prove a point which the majority know is totally invalid.

As another poster says, if we use

and refrain from responding it will all die down, to be fair we could just ignore the falsehoods an just respond
I think Steve loves whoever employs him.

IMO he's looked after No1 (how many wouldn't?) he could have joined Newcastle in January...but he turned them down ( hardly hard decision IMO)...we were top and they were floundering.

What cut me the most was "I have 12 months left"...so, give me more or I'll be tapped up again (because I'm that good)

When he left Boro he admitted in hindsight that he was arrogant and that he learnt his lesson from that...he learnt nothing aside from how to not so cleverly pull the wool over people's eyes. The last few months left a bitter taste in my mouth (a bit like Billy after the play off win). My view when we capitulated was that he had to go and that was without the fervour around Newcastle. When the going got tough he couldn't handle it.

He took Clough's good work and improved Derby, but this was largely down to the players drafted in on loan...Thorne, Wisdom, Bamford and Dawkins (at times)...Steve could

I agree and hope Mac does well at Newcastle. I must say i was sick of the rumours of will he won't he and i don't think Mac did enough to kill the speculation. I am happy with a fresh approach and await the new season full of optimism. C'mon you Rams
Cant understand why anyone would want wish him well, although everyone is entitled to their opinion.

I don't mind at all if he falls flat on his face at Newcastle. That's not sour grapes, I suppo

When I think of SMac now, I just think of Pinocchio in the Shrek films trying to say things in a way to stop his nose growing!

In his introductory interview with Newcastle, he commented more than once on wanting to be loyal to Derby. I'm afraid you display loyalty, not describe it.

How you justify a "no contact with Newcastle" statement while at Derby, to weeks later "I turned the Newcastle job down to stay loyal to Derby" just doesn't stack up to me.

Thinking about it, I also think Pinocchio may have got a better points return for the last 12 games

If anyone actually believes that Steve was thinking of anything but his CV and record when Newcastle approached numerous times needs their heads testing imo.

I thought about writing a long paragraph explaining why, with lots of quotes and evidence, but then i thought nobody would actually care what i had written anyway.

Trying to change someone's mind on a message board is pointless - and if they did, who cares.

I've just got back from holiday and it's a Monday morning. Everything seems so pointless .
