You also say never won key matches yet you forget about Mansfield at Home, Barrow Away etc.

Also the majority of the team didn't stay. Certainly not the ones that were needed. Let's have a look at what he had to work with shall we:

    Fitzsimmons - hopeless

Tootle - totally lost it, fullback who couldn't stop crosses

Bird - may have played OK but trained horribly by all accounts

Oxlaide-Chamberlain - signed by Hardy because of his brother, evidence football ability isn't genetic

Crawford - seemed quite small but decent and possibly should have been used more

    Doyle - used extensively

O'Brien - legs may be fading but still used extensively

Osbourne - an untested youth player at the time

    Mitch Rose - used extensively

    Enzio - Used extensively

    Campbell - youth player

Hemmings - sold as very expensive

Dennis - probably not used enough

From this, we can see that yes, he probably could have thrown a side together, but the defence which was always the issue the season before would have been awful. He managed to keep the midfield together and did have proven forwards if not massively expensive and draining of a budget for a club on its knees.

Just have a bit of perspective
Great reply, but I’m afraid your wasting your time. Davy constantly spouts this rhetoric, particularly NA not winning any big games and he’s been corrected previously. Add in the PO semi win over Barnet, he certainly won some big games.

Anyway, why can’t folk just move on. Whatever your opinion of Ardley and the circumstances he managed in, he’s gone. Owners made the decision, proving to be the correct one. End of discussion.

Enjoy the moment and leave bitterness or love to NA/other posters behind. Move on.

Well actually Kk it's not the end of discussion just because you say so. This fred is headed "Ardley to Barrow" so wouldn't you suppose anyone with an opinion about his move there might want to share their thoughts?

Ah another big Ardley fan along with chicken
I have not been corrected previously, as mansfield, Barrow ( because they had 10 men ) , and Barnet ( a weak squad) were not key matches
The key matches were Macclesfield ( the loss that relegated us) , and Harragate ( the loss that made us stay in the National league)
As for saying Sam Allardyce did worse than Ardley, don,t make me laugh, Sam was and will always be so far ahead of Ardley in managerial terms, a comparison to Ardley, frankly is an insult
It is you pro Ardley supporters who have been corrected in that Ardley was the worst manager ever, why don,t you just admit it

Only someone who claims that freak results often happen on opening day! Luckily, due to subsequent events we dodged a bullet.
True it was a very poor result, but just a single result, one game. Whereas as I confidently predicted Dover would have a poor start to the season (I suggested 10 games was a fair description of "start") and look was happened.....rock bottom.

Obviously when Notts had a disrupted pre-season the previous year which put us weeks behind the other teams in terms of preparation and player recruitment after the late sale of the club by Mr Hardy. That never had an impact to slow start to the season in our maiden season at this level.

    Just an Ardley excuse lol

Not that any of this matters it's old news, it's been fully discussed, Ardley was sacked.

It's all about the future, it's all about the Burchnall Bandwagon

My apologies, I must be confusing you with another poster. It's just that for a year or more that other poster openly ridiculed anyone who suggested that Ardley wasn't the answer, and even gave some of them silly nicknames. Then when it dawned on him what some of us realised very early, he rapidly changed direction and found a new hero.

    It must be my age.

It's been called a toxic circus, it was ran by a clown. Not really fair to any of the 3 managers that season, who all struggled. Again that's a fact, their managerial records show it that season.

    Agree.

Especially the record of the manager who had far more games than the other two.

Apology accepted, but I can't help I don't know who you are referring to. I openly ridiculed and mocked the ridiculous OTT comments against the manager, never that Ardley was or wasn't the answer.

If you remember who you are talking let me know.

You really must let the nicknames thing go Elite. Nobody in NCM got so wound up and upset by them as you lol.

Thankfully for everyone this is old news, been done to death. We've moved on, people have changed, NCM has improved. Oh and the Burchnall Bandwagon set off on its journey
