Yes he chipped in quite considerably with his goals and I’m sure others like myself, thank him for that but, it’s still a bizarre way to try to establish a move elsewhere don’t you think?
Why didn’t he ask the club to quietly put the feelers out to southern clubs to assist his needs?

The rumours of a bust up in the changing room may only be speculation but if true, now there’s a brotherly bond that was broken that may have well never got mended.
My take is that a professional footballer, especially one playing for a deal at a new club, is unlikely to do anything other than work his hardest to play as well as possible. I would put it down to trying to find your rhythm after a period of not being in the side, something that affects most players coming back from injury, including Reg who finished our strongest player.

The only time I could imagine a footballer not trying their best is if a deal is already in the bag and they have been played against their will.

No idea what's happened behind the scenes with Freddie but it happens at all clubs, and if he has behaved poorly, word will get around to buyers. In the meantime, thanks for the goals and his part in our recent memories.

Just like you, Brin, I have no idea why things happened in the way that they did. I have no idea what the motivation for his transfer request was, whether he has fallen out with his workmates (it happens) or how the club has treated him. That's why I think it a bit out of order for him to get the slagging that he has off some people.

To date, I think only one poster who has put forward an explanation - family illness. If that's true then maybe we should cut the bloke some slack? No?

I agree if that’s the real reason it answers a lot of questions and yes give him the deserved slack.

So, he put a Transfer request in, in Jan, gets dropped but plays well on his return. Family issues and trouble in the dressing room have been quoted. His family are in Romford and wants to be nearer. Miller also lives in London and seems to do ok. So is the health issues getting in his head( normal, everyone worries). He has never mentioned this problem concerning his Mum, but now someone comes on here and everyone knows......
He's scored some great goals for us, including this season, but he's always been a me player and not fitted in with the fitness/ethic of our team. Get rid asap and good luck Freddie. Hope his Mum recovers.

When Ladapo put in his transfer request, he would surely have told Warne the reason why he had done,
then shouldn't Ladapo & the club [Warne] sat down, & discussed issuing a statement.

Like - Due to family illness, Freddie Ladapo has put in a transfer request at the club.

This would have helped Ladapo in his connection with the fans, where as just a transfer request with
no reason, puts a bad vibe between him & the fans.

But does this then stop another club coming in for him, if he's not totally committed.

The problem was the request was submitted by his agent

That was stated by Warne at the time. He also said that his agent was as surprised by the request as anyone else.

From what Warney says via Paul Davis (advertiser) I’m doubting it’s about family issues but whatever it’s about he scored some great goals for us.
Still needs to move him on though

The agent was so surprised he put it out in the public domain straight away….and during the transfer window too…

The family issue was posted by an erratic poster who got pelters for an unsavoury play on words with his surname and that was his first post back and now gone again.

Suffice to say this can rumble around and more so now season has finished as a talking point but let’s just hope it’s sorted for all concerned and everyone gets reasonable outcome.and probably a little warning to us the exercise option is not waterproof as we think and is portrayed to be.
