I wouldn't say Montague was qualified no. He was an experiment that turned out ok. Roberto doesn't have the best reputation from previous clubs. We've niy even heard from him. So the jury is very much out.

So a 20+ striker is a weakest link???? He might be out of form at present but really.

I think McDonald is more than adequate. He?s been ok for us despite being played out of position.

Exactly? I?d add fatigued too. His career has not been blessed with 40plus appearances a season. In fact 24/25 is comfortably his highest season for appearances by some distance.
This is where the club need to look at another option up front to rotate and keep players fresh.
Folk like Durham insist that players are professional and should be robots. Able to perform to their best levels at all times.
Jatta isn?t the only one that?s looked knackered at the back end of the season.

Fans are not privy to the circumstances regarding players departing a football club.
Speculation surrounding Whittaker on the short term contract for example.
The consensus was that Austin was worth a new deal and he was playing very well prior to his recent operation.

Slocombe has been prominent "coaching " from the bench recently and I think the club have made the same mistake as they did with Jim O 'Brien.
Genuine club men have a role to play.

Anyone who's watched the Saunders interview, will have noted that he took a lot of personal credit, in identifying the potential of Abbott , Bedeau and Platt as being very good players to sign. He also mentioned the potential of Jarvis and Whittaker as bein̈g very worthwhile prospects in terms of ability and value.

Maybe we should gave persevered with Whittaker on that basis ?

I wouldn't agree with the criticism of Gordon and Robertson. Grant has done well recently but not at Plough Lane .

The one player I really wanted gone was Edwards.
His most memorable moment being the pass back at Shrewsbury (Legue Cup ) gifting them a goal . Since then he has been injured and largely anonymous when he has had minutes on the pitch !
Guaranteed to bring on negative vibes when he's brought on.

If Jatta was indeed one of the weakest links in our squad then our head coach really is solely to blame for not getting promoted!

A classic case emotive short term-ism from a fan

Or maybe Slocombe feels he can offer more than coaching from the bench and has stated he wants to go elsewhere and get first team football.
He knows he?s relying on an injury to get any minutes on the pitch if he stays here.
It?s not just a club decision when a player is released.
