Hamshaw was forced to play Douglas and we go on a 9 game unbeaten run. He drops him after a poor 45 minutes Vs Blackpool and we get mullered for 3 games. The lads learning. He's supposed to make mistakes.
Get a grip hamshaw and go back to what was working defence wise. That's a good starting block.
Ow and your midfield is pizz poor. Only Powell and gore should be playing
All the rest are either not good enough or always injured.

Add to that also starting with Zak Jules who looked totally composed and unfazed when he came on at left back. Rafferty gets another start at Bolton but this time focuses on the game more and to stop giving stupid positional mistakes away.

Matt, can you explain why you let Powell take virtually every set piece when his deliveries are so woeful?

I agree his set pieces are inconsistent, against Hudders he made the disallowed goal, put the next corner in the same place and nobody had made the run, it is his weakest element of his game his inconsistency at set pieces. Name me another contracted player that puts the shift in that he does, that covers as much of the pitch as him, that is always available. take Powell out of that team and then see how much he does. For context this woeful player had these stats last season.

Derbs, it's a shame you didn't see Woody 'clearly' warming up with Kaleta, Baptiste, Holmes and Rafferty.....A BACK FOUR and that is exactly how we set off. Don't give a hoots what you read or heard on other websites. Even someone sat near me quoted he was starting with 4 at the back. Out of that lot Baptiste didn't look comfortable at all in that set up. Yes he eventually moved further up when we were playing ok ish up to 20 minutes.

As for the likes of powder puff Martha, he is being over rated as he offers little in a challenge, thinks he can beat 2/3 players at once as shown in the second half. He is a tricky player but, nothing special. I think the World Cup thing has gone to his head and like you say, too damn lazy to track back!

As for the forward line, what's happened to Josh Ayres? He's shown he can give it a go, can score and overall is a big unit to have up front so where is he? Luckily and surely, now Nombe is back he starts against Bolton. I'll be there and hopefully it's not a wasted journey.

4-1-3-2 or 4-1-4-1 and you switch based on the opposition and whether home or away.

1 = Gore (cover kelly or spence)
3 = Spence, Powell, hall (options Kaleta, McWilliams, Yearwood and kelly at a push)
2 = Nombe, Etete (options benson, Ayres and the other young lad that played at Salford)

Both the Holmes, Hugill and martha get shut. It will be worth doing a compromise deal with hugill now to get him out
Yes i know we have a few injuries again and we always will until independent people are used to bring a fresh pair of eyes, that won't happen under TS and this board though as it is all about slashing costs now.

I think we will see in January just how big a problem we have

I don't normally agree with you Derby because you moan at everything but can't disagree with much of this. Though could add whilst McWilliams is not a flair player. He's a grafter and gives 100% every game

I asked a simple question and you've gone on a lengthy diatribe about why Powell should be in the side and what his statistics are! We get it, you're his biggest fan!
I haven't said he shouldn't be in the team or criticised his general contribution so I'll modify the question to make it easier to understand.

Once again i'll ask how do you "get rid of" players when they're have a contract til June? They can sit in the stand til June if they want.

By the way, i agree that we have more than enough deadwood, some of SE signing will be on good money, that's why MH didn't have a lot to work with.

Compromise deal same as in business. He then has a decision no football sat at home getting unfit and forgotten about near the end of his career, or take the deal and his agent gets him another club. Yes it will cost us money, but a compromise means it is likely to be less than him staying, I have done this with people in business many times, common practice.
