They lose 4 on the bounce like we just did, the pressure will be on & ship 3, 4 5 goals in away from home against lower teams, he'll be looking for a new job before the season ends. Rooney won't get a look in
If nothing else there will be no more mention of “actions” rather than moves hopefully!
He did us proud during his time here. Turned a probably good team with no teeth into a motivated team an with the additions (that he has no hand in) managed a club who could score freely. But he neglected the defence and comparisons with Moniz were fair.
The question now is can the new guy come in and sort the defence and keep the flowing football we’re used to watching?
Can he maybe install a little more “not pass it round the back 50 times?”
Can he recognise Brindley isn’t a League CB?
Work to be done, but in real terms…we’re in a playoff spot on our first season back. Not a bad job to be taking over imo.
With Burchnall it felt like we'd dated someone who was a bit below our level and they cheated on us.
Williams is the equivalent of a stunner who treated us respectfully, had an amazing summer and we've broken up because they're moving abroad.
Nothing but best wishes for him personally. If he does well here and potentially in his next role who's to say we won't see him in the England dugout one day.
A bit less football & tighter defence. Think most would take it
Yeah 5th in the table is terrible when we have a mid table budget ....awful stuff.
As Man Utd / Chelsea are finding out you can have all the money but if you have the wrong man steering the ship you're in trouble.
LW has said "several" times we play high risk football and we have reaped the rewards of that.
We can tighten up as some have said but we will lose the attacking side which imo is high risk in itself.
The fact we've lost 10 games this season, far more than anyone around us isn't the way to stay in 5th. Teams below can push us out with their games in hand. The manor in which we lost most of those games was disconcerting to me. I'm not saying he wouldn't have pulled it around but that 2nd half against Tranmere was as bad as I've seen for many seasons.
Good luck to him but I think he'll find it very hard work with a club and fans expecting Premiership football tomorrow.
