FWIW I was always a Labour voter but not since Corbyn became leader. Its not so much him to be honest, I think he believes in what he is doing, I just don't think most of the country want what he wants. For me the big problem is his almost cult like followers who shut down any debate or criticism which is laughable given Corbyn's record when Labour was in power. I would return to Labour if they had a more centre left leader, I have always liked Yvette Cooper and the way she runs the home affairs select committee makes me thinks she would be much more effective than Corbyn who simply cannot deliver a majority Labour government (maybe a coalition with the SNP but Sturgeon would demand a PM other than Corbyn as the price.
Having said that, Corbyn has a very difficult paradox to deal with over Brexit. As has already been said 66% of Labour constituencies voted leave but around 70% of Labour voters voted for remain. His own position has always been anti EU but a no deal is likely to kill off the social reforms he is looking for.
Its important to realize that although Rotherham voted to leave 68-32 that doesn't mean that Labour voters in Rotherham voted that way and if there was a general election next week although I doubt Corbyn would be able to get a majority, Labour would hold Rotherham and many other brexit favouring northern towns fairly comfortably. The brexit party would do well as UKIP did but would have the same problem as UKIP, being unable to convert Labour voters (as we saw in Peterborough).

Raging I'm almost certain when I was involved with the party and Momentum that I saw a document that stated 70% of Labour held constituencies voted to leave the EU .

If I'm right , not saying I am by the way but fecking off 70% of Labour voting constituencies isn't smart .

I always felt the party was trying to marginalise the leave areas and your comment tends to emphasis that .

Firstly, don't in any way think that my comment was in any way aimed at you and big lad. I respect your arguments well. I think we all know the laurel and Hardy in thinking of, but I guess they are long gone as far as Labour goes.

It also is not aimed at anyone concerned about immigration exploitation. This is a genuine factor of concern. And it's fair to argue for controlled immigration of sorts. People in these heartlands have every reason to be angry and should take action and direct their anger. But very different to do as many do to direct this repeatedly and with hostility towards immigrant groups. If they think that, I repeat, **** em, I do not want them in my party.

Obviously I'm going on the full fact info but see what you and BL are arguing about constituencies. Have you got any current analysis that discusses the implication of this for a general election with current polls as the full fact does. Happy to read and take on board

From what I can gather from everything that has gone on since article 50 was extended the **** has really hit the fan.

The Labour party is in flux right now, the leader is changing his mind nearly every week on what he intends to do over the EU debate. This is not good for anyone wanting to back the Labour party other than those that would vote for a donkey with a red sash (if you get my drift) and are losing people to the Lib Dems and other parties. The Conservatives are in free fall and are not fit to lead the country in its present state in or out of the EU. The Brexit party that I back over all the other parties are also not the front runners either but are a thorn in the other 2 big parties chances. If the Labour party or the Brexit party get their act together before a GE I can see one or the other winning it.
