My point being Davy n 95 is that if the season is a write off in your opinions then there is zero harm in letting the season runs it’s course before we start axing folk.
    We won’t get relegated.
But what if NA did get us in a roll? What if he achieved the unimaginable?
I honestly don’t see the point in changing managers at this point. More importantly nor do the owners.

There’s every point to get rid, based on the evidence so far Ardley has failed and will continue to fail. Like i said get rid now, and give the new manager a proper chance to asses the squad. I suppose it all boils down to what you want, if you want to be an average NL Club then fine Ardley is your man. However if you want promotion we will need somebody else. Put it this way if we were the one with Gary Johnson, and Torquay were the ones with Ardley, I suspect Notts would be top and Torquay would be bottom half. Why Ardley was appointed anyway baffles me, we were in a relegation fight, so we needed somebody to galvanise the team, how was Ardley that man when he was on a losing streak with AFC Wimbledon...

It must be Ardleys outstanding record since hes been with us.
Relegation and failed promotion attempt, failing to beat teams like mighty Harrogate and Barrow, and currently falling short to the mighty Torquays and Suttons of this world..
Yes Burton are a well run club but they are still a small fish in a big pond.xxx
It's possible we do get better than Ardley but you speak of certainties and I don't think it's at all certain that we'll get better.
To be a small fish in a big pond is the height of over achievement and efficiency. They have had all their success with two managers, Clough and Rowett. Jake Buxton looks ready to be sacked and Paul Peschisolodo didn't last. So, in around fif**** years they've had less managers than us and only two of them were successful. Clough was also given years to get out the Conference.
If you're going to get rid then you've got to have a plan for better. The new manager would have to utilise the squad we've got and with Covid, there's no money about even for us who are well funded to just pay compensation and add new players.

It was a poor decision by Alan Hardy Kyle, you shouldn't be baffled at all especially after the poor decision to sack his previous two appointments when he did that season.

Of course we would prefer top of the table Torquay's manager this season and would have loved Barrow's manager last season.

As I mentioned earlier if we got rid now (we won't, we shouldn't) got someone in immediately and this time next season we are sat in 5th are you then asking for that manager to be replaced to let the next guy have enough time for the following season? Or does he get more time?

Ardley has been at the club for 2 years, and as of so far has failed. To put it into context, Hardy backed Ardley in January to keep us up. Now if you look at Macclesfield under Sol Campbell, he couldn’t sign any players, and on top of that he was not paid for months nor were the players yet they stayed up. That’s fail number 1. Now season number 2, yes you can say we didn’t have a squad until a week before the season. However what I would say is, most of the players that did sign came from the EFL, something most teams in this league could only dream of. If you were to offer this Notts squad to any other manager in our league, including Torquay they would snap your hand off. Now yes of course if we get rid there’s no guarantee it will work, but that doesn’t mean we should flog a dead horse, on the assumption the replacement isn’t guaranteed to work. For me personally he’s had more than enough time, and as I’ve pointed out, he’s lost every major game. Swindon, Harrogate Twice, and Macclesfield that’s pretty damming in my book.

Kyle some valid points in there that can't be doubted. Although I'm not sure why Mansfield, Barrow, and especially Barnet in the play off semi final aren't major games.

I'm glad you briefly highlighted that ee didn't have a squad until a week before the season whereas most of our competitors had over a month. That can't be played down as insignificant.

You are right most clubs that get relegated have squads full of EFL players that NL clubs could only dream of but how many of these just relegated clubs with their superior squads get promoted back to the EFL at their first attempt?

Finally, you didn't answer my question. If the owners sacked NA now, the new guy comes in can't get us promoted this season and 14 games into the next season we are 5th or even worse 6th or 7th does he get more time or do you want him being replaced?
