A matter of opinion, I can see how you'd struggle with that.

I tend to agree. There's always one team that has a freak season and runs away with it, so we'll have to make do with the playoffs at best. With the current team and manager, I can't see us going up that way either.

I have a feeling that Ardley will keep doing just enough to not get sacked (in our owners' eyes, that is), and losing in the playoffs probably means he'll be given another chance to go again.

We need to be the team having a freak season and running away with it. I just don't think Ardley is the kind of manager that instills that winning mentality in teams. If he talks to his players like he talks to the media, he'll be banging on about how great the oppposition is pre-match. We need a manager who understands that we are the favourites for promotion. No excuses.

    why waste a season,
    Get rid now !
get a new management team in that can utilise the squad we have now, assess it and try and improve the way we play with a view to play off promotion.
If they fail they can use this time as building the foundations for a promotion charge next season.
    its that simple
Ardley wont change , but as a team we need to.
The second half philosophy is what we need to adopt every game , not when we are one down at half time.

makes me wonder just how ambitious are the owners. It seems obvious that we are not going to get out of this League under NA.

I think they are very ambitious. But I also think they are very cautious about rocking the boat and making big changes. They know that instability was a major factor in our recent demise, and they don't want to get into a cycle of chopping and changing every few months.

The problem is, if the current manager isn't able to deliver what they (or we) expect, some amount of instability is a necessity.

I wonder what our owners' expectations are, and what it would take for them to lose faith in Ardley and roll the dice. I remember they said something about trying to improve our chances of promotion each year. If that's the case, you would expect an improvement in our league position year on year. That's what I would expect from a manager.

You like everyone have no idea of what the owners expect. I assume like most owners at the start of the season they want promotion or else what’s the point? There are 2 ways to get promoted out of this league.
We are currently sat in the playoffs which is for me the minimum expectation at the end of the season. We have done so with arguably our best player injured, with one of or most important forwards injured and our current main forward not scoring enough. Get all 3 back firing and who knows.
Also we have more than half of our games to go and given the form we showed in the run up to COVID last March there is cause for optimism that we can do that again.
Finally, Ardley brought in a couple of good signings last January. If he does the same this January then it could allow the team performances to progress further. I honestly think we are desperate for a centre forward who can get 10-15 goals in the games remaining.
IMO there is no point speculating as to whether Ardley will take us up this season as we simply don’t know. He has us there or thereabouts at the minute. Let’s see where we are come May before we restart the managerial merry go round.

So Pedro wants to get rid of a manager part way through the season. I'm sure there are a few others who feel the same but I doubt it's worth another Ardley sack or stay poll.

In my opinion the current situation doesn't warrant a sacking, I don't conclude that the owners aren't ambitious at all. If they are then we've had lots of ambitious owners who we have declined under prior to the brothers.

I don't believe a new manager will massively increase our chances of a playoff position and possible promotion. However it may improve the chances to get promotion next season as it gives the manager a nice run up to the new season.

If I were the owners I would be considering potential managers throughout the second half of the season ready to make appoaches if he fails.
