Changing the manager now would be a very difficult thing to do but, it is becoming obvious that MH is totally out of his depth. Recruitment, shape, tactics and authority are clearly missing.

So what does TS do? Sit back and let the car crash happen or intervene? The next set of fixtures are coming thick and fast. I can’t see a point, never mind a win.

Adding to that, I’d be surprised if TS will sanction any further spending based on the dross MH and RS has brought in.

May I say you seem a tad disgruntled with everything related to the club at the moment. Please tell, will you carry on watching them ,after all there is still a long way to go .

We have a chairman who I wouldn't trust to run a bath at his age. He's played football manager with our money (season ticket sales etc.) and championship TV monies and decent enough player sales and failed so so badly. We must have paid a kings ransom out in compensation for this failure. Anyways, A goal scorer is key to our season. There's gaps in other areas but going down 1-0 in games and next to no way of coming back quickly goes 2-0 and heads drop. Our tails were up first half v Vale as we had a lead which gave us a bit of tempo. I think we are in danger of going down without a goal scorer but everyone needs those. Fingers crossed for good news this week.

The squad still needs major surgery, I think we all agree on that. A quick glance tells me 10 players have left so far this summer and we've brought in exactly that number, but we're far weaker right now.

People are saying we need a striker and we definitely do. We haven't scored a goal in 3 games and the only player to have scored this season is Nombe. We've created next to nothing in terms of goal scoring chances. 24% possession and 7 touches in the Cardiff box on Saturday according to FotMob. That's a massive concern. Anyone would think we're back in the Championship looking at those stats. This is L1 ffs.

I think we're in big trouble this season it'll take 2 or 3 transfer windows to get things right.

We all know deep down that football has changed and it?s all down to the money. Rotherham have never been a rich club and now it appears TS has lost interest so tough days ahead most likely.
Being a fan is tough but doable. Being on message boards with invisible keyboard nutters can be mentally draining.

We are what we are that said we’ve wasted some opportunities to kick on.
I think MH given time will get it right. Although reading some of the stuff on here I’d check his tyres in the morning 😁 if I were him.

Was there before this current regime and will be there long after they have gone.

Please do not interrupt my views as a lack of care for the club. I?ve missed 5 matches since Christmas and will continue to as many games between now and the end of the season as possible. But I won?t keep quiet about the mismanagement I see.

I must be watching a different season unfold to some, because the one I've seen has:

Us having played three (JUST three) league games.
Winning the home game.
Losing two away to the teams who are literally first and second in the table.
Four young players brought in for a fee (three of them less than a month ago).
Green, JCH and MacDonald farmed out.
Many gaps we had filled - and still the CB and CF missing who I think most agree we sorely need.
A lack of creativity remaining (was there before, still need to either drop in a legit number 10 or ease this team into a system where we can attack as a unit).

Other complaints seem to be around TS's lack of interest (see four bought players point - he may not care like he did, but wealthy men don't spend a penny when they're really given up); ownership of assets (covered extensively in prior posts around liabilities and standard risk averse set-up of clubs - also largely immaterial to a three game position); dwindling to mediocrity (we're bang on for where attendance level would put us in a league table, and I personally believe the mistake remains lack of investment in Warne/the ground under Warne - also immaterial to this season, we need to get this project of younger saleable players coming through to fund the next rise); Rob Scott/Management structure (impossible to judge Scott on three games, but we look to have some talent in Martha and Hall at the absolute least, and I'd imagine very few of us would know what influence RS/each manager respectively had over some of the signings we've made that hurt us (Hugill, JCH, Jules, etc) - but retention has remained an issue and this is a management problem)

Do we have problems? Yes, a few. Problems relative to the size of a small northern club which is trying to move from one football model to another. We were never likely to go up or challenge, and I'd voiced my own guess that we'd start erratic and find our feet, likely hitting promotion form in 2026, ready to tweak and push next season. Nothing has changed for me after two losses to teams placed at the top of L1.
Is MH way out of his depth? Honestly, I doubt it. He's been professionally involved in more games than (at a guess) 99% of the entire forum roster combined. Is he right for us as a manager (which seems a more sensible question)? Three games with his players is absolutely nowhere near enough to know.
Are Rotherham fans fickle? They f***ing moan a lot, but I don't know about fickle. Most (in my experience) are more likely to stick to a point of view on a player, manager, etc despite anything, so I don't think I'd call them fickle in the sense that they switch loyalties - be honest, most football fans will whinge about a player for 89 minutes then sing his name if he scores (I'd count myself out on that front with Hugill though).
