What the hell has any of this got to do with Brendan Rodgers? There appears to be no problem between Sterling and his club.
This is an issue between Hodgson & Sterling. An England, not Liverpool, issue.
If Hodgson thinks the bloke is a ***** he can drop him. If he thinks Sterling has a point he can pick him.
And we all move on FFS.

Bonjour mon ami.
Storm in a teacup imo mate. If he refused to play for his club it's a different matter, contracts and all that. But he didn't. In fact as I understand it he didn't even actually refuse to play.
Like I say if Hodgson is upset, offended, or just plain p1ssed off by Sterling's actions he has the option of leaving him out of his next selection. Or any other selection he makes while he holds the job.
The conspiracy theorist in me thinks Hodgson saw questions about him omitting Sterling from the s

I prefer the position of 'bloke who presses the button on the sausage machine' as described in Frogsters post.
If I said that it would be true...however, he has form right...a year or two ago he had to be dropped by Liverpool because of burn out...THEN he was young...THEN he was given a chance to mature but now at 19 I doubt his body will ever cope and almost certainly we will see later on this season that he will MANAGE to play in CL games and PL games when Liverpool need him.Originally Posted by Taansend
Not really. I think you are under complicating it. It is reductive in the extreme to suggest that a player not feeling sufficiently prepared for an important game, and saying so, means he should be forever prevented from playing for his country again.Originally Posted by frogiron

The alternative would be for everyone to simply say "I agree with everything HM says".
In which case, this forum would simply disappear in a puff of pointlessness.
