    re: Sterling..

    Why? cause he said he was tired and Hodgeson decided to omit him for the Estonian game?!

    Ok, you would expect a footballer to be fit especially at the beginning of the season, but if your mind is in a turmoil that has an effect on you, you might not be physically tired, but mentally.

    He is 19 and has had to stand in the boots of Suarez and Sturridge with all the expectations that come with it after a good last season.

    Physically he is fit, but mentally obviously not.

    Do me a favour John? Would he be too tired for a world cup final? 19 years old, and he's tired! You cant pick and choose what games you want to play in, there are players that would die to play for their country. I wouldn't want him in any team I was playing in, that is for sure.

    Can't agree here...he is 19 and playing for your country should be the ultimate...9 games he has played...I'd not pick him again.

    Wasn't tired last season when Liverpool were challenging for the title though was he ?

    Pathetic

    re: Sterling..

    Talking about his mental state, not his physical state. There is a difference.

    You talk of last season, when last season was already mentioned. He obviously isnt able to handle the mental pressure put on him, many things effect a player, some players thrive where others dont, some enjoy the pressure, some shine doing their own individual roles without great expectations. But dont say you cant feel mentally tired.

    And you are crucifying him for the fact that Hodgeson left him out because the man spoke up and said he was tired. Did he say he didnt want to play?! Dont know the whole story, cause all i have heard is he said he was tired the eve of the match.

    All this sh.! te about Sterling not being picked to play would not have been heard had we performed better. The fact that a team that should have, with or without him means the press like hounding any small thing to make something seem sensational.

    How many times have i heard people saying a player is too young for this or that?!

    re: Sterling..

    Why does it matter ? England will qualify 1st regardless of the personnel used.

    The issue is Roy Hodgson. A decent coach but not a manager that inspires. He was flapping when he realised he had suggested,that he was not aware that the England captain was about to be substituted AND bloody had to back pedal fast, wittering on about substitutes forms handed to 3rd officials...not being his responsibility ?

    ...jeez,if he is not responsible for knowing who in his team,is on the f.ucking pitch and who isn't, then who bloody is.

    Christ on-a-bike, we have bigger problems than a 19 year old kid, not quite fancying the special-experience of facing Estonia's finest.

    My heart bleeds for him.
    Hope hes enjoying his little massage and jacuzzi this morning. I've just rung one of my customers to let him know I wont be in today, as I did my 5th 6 day week in a row last week. Guess what, he told me to f uck off.

    Sterling = tart

    Hodgson = bigger tart.

    Lets be honest the game yesterday was an absolute disgrace with or without Sterling.

    Estonia posed as much a threat as 'Orient'. Even less really.

    re: Sterling..

    You are right, and we shouldnt have needed Sterling to see them off. The fact he wasnt on just gives others a poor excuse for a poor performance.

    We can speculate about Sterlings reasons for not playing, we can see things differently but none will really know the reason only the player himself.

    It would be interesting to go back and see the teams all the cop outs for one reason or other played for.

    I think the hunger to play for England died for many reasons, the biggest being league commitments, but not that entirely in itself. There seems to be total lack of pride across the board fueled by many factors.

    re: Sterling..

    Oh I agree with the fact that England were **** and it was not down to Sterling.

    However, I just think that we do not need players who are mentally or physically tired after 9 games of a PL season and I expect him to be rested on Saturday for Liverpool...if he is tired, fair enough...he doesn't therefore make the cut !

    I don't care what the reasons are, let him sort them out in his own time then away from England...we need winners who are willing to stand up and be counted...we need to start breeding a winning mentality or its not worth playing.

    Tired FFS

    Just my opinion.
