Apparently tonight at 7pm church bells all over Europe are due to ring and we are asked to turn off our lights to demonstrate to Putin that we’d rather sit in the dark than buy his gas and oil. Our 7pm is coordinated with Central Europe at 8pm, Kyiv at 9pm and Moscow (if anyone’s brave enough) at 10pm.
Not sure how effective such things are so don’t ‘shoot the messenger’ but, in the interests of solidarity with Ukraine and against this latest tyrant it may be worth supporting.

Rather than respond to your provocation, let me just ask for your thoughts on Swale's repeated abusive, foul mouthed responses in particular to Tricky and more latterly to Andy. I know Tricky is a Forest fan, but that transcends this. You say you hate bullies, yet you appear to be supportive of Swale's constant verbal bullying of Tricky - you're just as bad as the kid on the edge of the playground who does nothing to stop the bully beating up on the outsider and occasionally shouts out words of encouragement just to solidify his own position as an ally.

Do I provoke him and you - sure. But only because the two of you provoke me - its give and take. Just because we have different opinions on things doesn't mean to say I wouldn't buy you or he a beer if I saw you in a pub: it is what I believe the yoof of today call "banter".

It’s not banter, GP...banter is funny. What you two, or sometimes three, get up to is just attempted internet bullying...usually mean spirited and invariably witless imo.

What I think of Swale’s ‘abusive and foul mouthed responses’ is largely irrelevant...for the record I think they’re examples of him shooting himself in the foot, but I don’t speak for him, I just understand his frustration.

I’m absolutely not at all as you describe in your playground analogy. The only time I ‘attack’ Tricky is when he betrays his racist/xenophobic perspective, as he did last week.
I don’t encourage Swale’s ‘outbursts’ either, but I usually agree with his more intelligent and better made points and, as it happens, we don’t know each other at all and I don’t think I’ve ever even pm’d him.
As regards you...let’s face it...no one knows who they’re getting from one day to the next. We nearly had a drink together once as I recall, when I was in Crawley overnighting before departure from Gatwick. Either you’re a different bloke or I’m more choosy who I drink with these days.

Apparently the Russian Embassy in South Africa tweeted that Russian forces were in Ukraine attacking Nazism there. The SA German Embassy replied No you're not, you're killing thousands of innocent men, women and children. We should know, we're kind of experts on Nazism.

Please don’t tell me what to do, AF. There had been a misunderstanding as far as Stenson was concerned which I sought to avoid being taken further. I deliberately made no comment about your ‘anecdotes’ which, personally, I have no reason to doubt.

It’s water off the proverbial duck’s back to me...but, if you want an example of ‘pathetic’, try GP deliberately falsifying a quote of your words to me or misrepresenting Swale...it’s just part of the reason why my responses to ‘Dastardly and Muttley’ will be very much more limited in the future.

P.S. I didn’t make any ‘political points’, GP. My perspective is that Putin is a madman, Biden is too old to handle a situation like this, and Johnson is an inveterate liar. Nothing political about any of that...it’s just my perspective/opinion...what is there to disagree with?

I actually found that childish bit of post-tampering amusing - but significantly I would have found it even more amusing if our respective roles had been reversed, and that points to us having a fundamentally different sense of humour - I find your perpetual anti-hmg codas tiresome (despite agreeing with you!) so we’ll both have to live with one another’s quirks I guess.
