I would imagine the general trend of owners across the game would indicate it's more likely to go downhill from here than up, if they haven't achieved anything on the back of the bounce and goodwill a change in ownership usually brings.
The pressure on them will only increase from here.

Stall said on MC that talk of "4 year plans" is really just PR to manage expectations.
Well that wasn't the case with the Forest owner. It took 5 years but it's not gone downhill now.

I am happy with them in control. Yes there are still lessons to learn, but talk about them being under pressure imo is somewhat premature, and the claims made previously that they lack ambition just doesn't sit right with me.

Having said that, the importance of getting the head coach position right cannot be under-estimated.

I agree we need a solid base to build on, but do we have it? There's been a few moans about negativity on here today, but there are also those who think that we are now a well run club with great owners so success automatically has to follow. I sincerely hope they are right, but I would have liked to see a few more signs that we are moving in the right direction.
We have moved in the right direction since the chuckle bros went to Forest Green...

Saying that it would certainly still be progress compared to how Trew and Hardy left us, it's a very low bar. Disgraceful. We can't as a club have that again , us fans deserve better than how they treated us. Plus we are quickly running out of our 9 lives.

You need a a solid base foundation to build any sort of success on. Our previous approach is akin to the roulette wheel at a casino with absolutely no connection between each spin of the managerial wheel.

You can't have 20 years of decline and expect 2 it to only take a few years to reverse.
Absolutely true. I don't know everything that's happening behind the scenes and nor I suspect do most other observers, but from what I can see there's plenty to like about the way the current owners are running the club. That's not to say there aren't things to improve, of course there are, but until or unless we cease being in the promotion mix-up at the end of the season, or Winding Up orders start arriving (God forbid!), then I'm happy to be patient and show some faith in the current project. From little acorns and all that.

The chuckle brothers out and ....... oooooh hang on a second, who are we going to get in ?????
Don’t you know anyone? Surely we can get the Danish royal family to invest or the owner of the NY Yankees. They were interested in the past, right? Queued up with all the other billionaires looking to invest in the formerly known oldest league club in the world. I think they are waiting until we are in League 2.

I hear Russell King is putting together another Middle-Eastern consortium as we speak, from his little house on the Solent. It's like the land of milk and honey out there!

I am always glass half full with Notts so I will take great heart that they were promoted after finishing 17th the season before.

Marginally, but not by a distance that has any great meaning. Such small differences in points and position can come down to the randomness of football and variables like an injury here or there and whether a couple of shots hit the bar or the post or go in the net, plus the form of the team you happen to get in the play-offs. If we'd finished, say, 3rd, 8th and then 12th in the last three seasons then it probably would be fair to say we're getting significantly worse, but 3rd, 5th and 5th are basically play-off finishes. If we're splitting hairs to such a degree then, as others have pointed out, we actually scored more points in a stronger league this season than last. Essentially, we've been pretty much stable on and off the park for the past three years, which doesn't require panic from anyone. It just means we need to tweak things a bit this summer, hopefully with some good value rather than big money signings, to see if we can push on.

    Stable but no progress.
