And completely off topic, I saw a piece on us being at NYS for 10 years yesterday, accompanied by a picture of some of the team. Arnason, Pringle, Noble etc. But there was one guy who I didn't recognise, at all.

Must be getting old MT - I've no recollection of the 'Norwich Model' - or where I read it. Just done a search and can't find anything about it - perhaps he sees some similarities between the clubs though I'd struggle to say what those might be - little fish in a bigger pond perhaps as the Canaries have spent a reasonable amount of time in the top flight? Bringing younger players through the ranks?

Of course not. For a start all the teams are told by club/agents who will be available for loan/transfer. It's then up to an individual club to single out who they might fancy. Getting in touch with the agent to see what are the requirements his client(player) will want. Then it's usually the agent what puts it about trying to up the ante for his client. Don't forget it's the player who pays a % of his wage to his agent. Plus the club for "helping" them.
Your previous post makes it sound like that some clubs don't have any scouts and wait for teams like us to say, "Oh we fancy so and so".

Announcing deals - Similar situation in the NBA with a big trade involving the team I follow expected to go through shortly. Couple of journalists jumped the gun yesterday and then had to backtrack when it wasn't done as they suggested. The problem is journalists trying to be the first to reveal big news. They end up jumping the gun.

Warney is getting increasingly frustrated through the lack of incoming players.I noticed that Hodge Clemco have extended their sponsorship with us,which is good, but all this money we get is not being invested to improve the squad.I can't understand why the likes of Luton ,Blackpool and Preston,all with similar crowd levels as us, are investing in their teams but we don't.

Luton have similar support levels but Blackpool had 14,365 and Preston 12,608 average gates last year. That represents substantially more annual income than us

Well Millers you can always pay players and clubs the fees what they want in an attempt to remain in the championship .

The problem is it doesn't guarantee shyte and the downside is you have a £14.6m wage bill to service in league one on the back of finishing rock bottom of the championship with 30 fecking points like we ended up with .

One poor transfer window can set you back two or three seasons because I'll be amazed if we make a fist of it in league one this season .

Every player attracting an offer sold , Woodrow , Morris , Brittain and Helik and Styles to follow all replaced by freebies so far .

Massively frustrating as it is in the championship there's a downside and you've managed the relegations back to league one very well .
