every so often i have a peep at best of lists, and im never in agreement of any of it.
just looked at a 100 best guitarists of all time poll.
mark knokflers up in the 80,s.
keith richards 40.
no brian jones.
no mick taylor.
no ronnie wood.
half the clowns in the top 10 i hadnt heard of.
there was also no edge from u2.
no t-rex.
and it was won by van halen.
ffs who compiles this pysh and who do they ask.
also looked at best guitar solos of all time, and in the top 50 they missed jim hendrix long solo at woodstock during a rendition of voodoo chile. amazing this could be missed in favour of sweet child of mine by guns and roses which won, why the fek its no that great.
what do the panel think.

Sweet child of mine is an overplayed pile of shyte.
They're probably all about as good as each other. I doubt the chap at number 1 could play something that number 50 couldn't.
The person that makes the best sounding noise from a guitar is Johnny Marr imo
That's putting it mildly.Originally Posted by 1995_Oh_My_Sides_

It's all subjective. Some guitarists are technically brilliant whilst others manage to hit you in the gut.
Personally, I dig Duane Allman, Peter Green & Paul Kossoff as lead guitarists but there are so many other greats - who cares what order they come in?
I hope that wasn't too patronising or condescending for anyone.
T Rex, now there's a phucking band.![]()
How many great albums did T-Rex make?
They made some great singles but great bands make great albums.
I found it both informative and hypocritcal.Originally Posted by BertrandRussell
