    Joleon Lescott

    MAY sign for us eventually

certainly be a Hammer signing if true! ( excuse the pun)

West Ham agree deal with Manchester City to take Joleon Lescott for £90,000 a week
West Ham United have agreed a 3-year deal with Manchester City to sign Joleon Lescott as they battle against relegation.

However the move may collapse because Manchester City are adamant they will not release the England international until after Jan 20 and West Ham are unsure they can wait another week, despite a 2-0 victory at relegation rivals Cardiff City on Saturday.

It is also unclear whether Lescott wants to move to West Ham and face a survival fight or wait to see if offers come in from other clubs such as Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United.

The 31-year-old has six months left on his contract at the Etihad and wants to secure regular first-team football as he battles for a place in England’s squad for the World Cup in Brazil.

West Ham are believed to have agreed a deal with City a week ago match

We certainly need a 'new' breath of life in the defence...but Lescott no sure!

More to the point who do we have to sell to secure the deal?

    Lescott is a decent enough defender but A?70k p/w ????? . . . . . but we won't pay Morrison 60k

If true it might suggest Reid is off because they both play left centre back.

well thats that 1 done and dusted!

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini has played down claims that defender Joleon Lescott is set to join struggling West Ham on loan.

Reports on Sunday suggested Sam Allardyce could land the England defender as the Hammers attempt to fight their way out of relegation trouble.

However, Pellegrini insisted Lescott would be staying put, for now at least.

Speaking after City's 2-0 Barclays Premier League victory at Newcastle, he said: "No, no. I am not talking about any loan at the moment.

"I repeat, when this transfer window is over at the end of January, we will see what happens. At the moment, Joleon will stay here with the team."

Hate to say this - but I did say so! All we need now is Ravel to sign for Fulham - which might not be too far off!
