Thread: Skrillbound Fish Fiddlers

    Skrillbound Fish Fiddlers

Had to express my amusement at someone's presumed description of proud Pompey. Somewhat inaccurate of course. Forget the fiddler bit - that's been done to death, but if you must, how about "21st Century FA Cup winners and FA Cup finalist Skrillbound Fish Fiddlers"? Then again, we're not Skrillbound as things are turning round, thanks to Mr Barker. In any case, the Skrill is the Premiership of non-league football so everything is relative.

Many people have come on this board to riposte your anti-Pompey remarks by reminding you of your own precarious financial position. As Weasel has said, it's not looking good for you. Chickens are coming home to roost. The SFC magic is evaporating.

Could we be on the way up and you on the way down, restoring Hampshire football to its rightful place?

When you say "things are turning round", does that mean you will stop reversing into the Conference League, turn about and drive head first into

JHC on a hot tin roof, talk about rose tinted glasses, optimism on a gigantic scale. It's the hope that gets them every time. At least when they drop to the Skrill they will be making history and boasting about it.

Yor a quirky blue aren't you? To be honest, stick to taking the kids to school and ironing yor partners dresses. Leave the football to the boys.

just 6 short years have taken Pompey from the heady heights to yes, the brink of non-league football. No-one would have put money on it. My point is that the same could happen to you. Every post here about SFC's future involves other peoples' dosh. Will KL carry on with her Dad's vision? Will China's richest businessman make SFC the richest club? Any fool can buy success as you say Pompey did and Blackburn 20 years ago. If you think there is anything different about you, then you are fools. Enjoy it while you can but prepare for tears at bedtime. You haven't got the indigenous financial clout of the top six.
