    O/T How Music Works

I've just finished "How Music Works" by David Byrne, formerly of Talking Heads.

Fascinating individual. He talks a lot about how he started out as a new-primitive musician organically creating one hit song after another with Talking Heads. His writing style is faux-naive, which makes for a super easy read.

Since leaving Talking heads he's been involved in an incredible number of projects, musical, theatrical, artistic.

He's got to be one of the most creative and modest artists of his generation.

    Highly recommended reading.

One particular aspect that I found fascinating is that he really doesn't have a lot of time for music of the past, especially the music of the great composers, most of which, he say, don't do much for him.
