    As a kid I thought and still do think he was one of the best strikers ever underated

    dont really know much about clarke other than he was an internationalist and played a prominent part in many of leeds utds succeses.

    only seen clips of him on various dvd,s of match of the day and the big match.

    love watching stuff from this era, clarke seemed to be a great goalscorer in a great team.

    Played a prominent part in many of Leeds United near misses would probably be nearer the mark as he has only 3 winners medals( one league, one FA Cup, one fairs cup), he was runner up three times in the league,three times in the FA Cup and once in the European Cup.


    Watching the highlights from that England -Poland game it is hard to believe that a team that had Martin Chivers, Allan Clarke, Mick Channon, Tony Currie, Colin Bell and Martin Peters all on the pitch from the start were unable to score a goal from open play.

    Clarke was a huffy git , no many of the other players liked him.

    Not sure if it was Clarke or Duncan Mackenzie that was the "outsider".
