Always thought this lad had a good future at the club whenever i saw him in action for us...looked quite strong on the ball and could play a few positions. Puzzled as to why we have sold him permanently?
What's the harm in continuing to loan him out for a couple of seasons to see if he fulfils his potential ffs.

You're right regarding the u21's they are classed as homegrown and don't take up any of the 25 man squad spots.
I thought him and Leo Chambers were the closing thing we had to another centre back breaking through our ranks.
