    Our Next Seven Games.

    Swansea (h), Villa (a), Norwich (h), Soton (h), Everton (a), Hull (h), Stoke (a).

These are the games that make our season.

We need a dozen points from these games.

I'm still in a 70% view that we go down but a good run here could change things.

A lot depends on how Refs view Carrolls physical game. It's funny how much his style is now punished when it was the norm up until the turn of the century.

    Has the game gone downhill?

i see all games as winnable, to varying degrees of difficulty, except everton. they've always had our measure.

if we aren't going to beat them, it's imperative that we don't lose... which i'm sure is sam's motto anyway.

these are the games where we need to make hay while the sun shines, because we have a very difficult run in, including a nightmare finish with spurs and city.

70% chance of going down? That's awfully negative! I would say that with most players returning to full fitness and the additions of the Italians that we'd have a 70% chance of staying up! It might not be ***y but we just need three teams to finish below us - think positive!

Seven battling displays like last night - minus Andy's air shots - will see us home and hosed.

The next 3 games are the most important ones. If we screw up in those i.e. we don't get 6 points, morale won't be good with players or fans and will probably mean we're dead and buried.

Agreed. Feb is make or break for me. We have a shocking run in end of season and we need to bag the points in the coming weeks. Please God be safe before the Spuds game.

    Hello Surfcity,

How are you, mate? Still up in Seattle or back in Long Beach? Toying with the idea of a move to Seattle myself but not sure I can handle chilly weather anymore.

As for the 70% I'm not being negative nor positive, just ANALytic. When I look at our run in I see a lot of tough games.

If we can pick up points in these seven games I'll change my view but as things stand I favour us for the drop. I'll still be cheering us on every game & hoping for the best though.

We cant win back to back games and we are losing most of our winnable games.

With or without the returning players and the new signings our only hope of staying up imo is Sam going for the games. No negative football and respect the point crap. Just go all out to try and win those must win games.

Still think we are nailed on faves to go down. Not because of the players but because of the negative tactics.

At some point we are going to have to go on a little run. That means 3 or 4 games at least without defeat and 2 or 3 back to back wins.

    Cant see it myself.

Last time we won back to back games in the Premier League was Feb/March 2010 when we beat Liverpool 3-1 & Stoke 3-0.

That was actually part of a mini run when we only lost 3 in 13 - although two of those were back to back losses to Newcastle & Arsenal when we let in 8 with no return.

After that we went on a great run of 7 losses in 8 games with a draw thrown in.

We're definitely entering a crucial period in the season.

As has been mentioned, we are unlikely to manage two wins in a row. However, even if we got WLWLWLW from our next 7 games, we'd have had a decent return of points.

You'd think we probably need at least three wins from our next seven. Hopefully, starting with tomorrow.
