Trabzonspor have made a fresh move for Celtic's Georgios Samaras, with the intention of signing the 28-year old.

The Greek international is out of contract in the summer, and looks unlikely to extend his stay at Celtic Park beyond May.

However, the Turks would like to sign the forward with immediate effect. It is understood that Samaras would cost around £800,000 for a move to be pushed through in the January window.

But it is believed that the striker is reluctant to make the switch at this stage.

The player is currently free to talk to any interested party, and could leave the Celtic for nothing in the summer under freedom of contract.

Samaras, who joined Celtic in 2008 from Manchester City, has scored 70 goals in all competitions since arriving in Scotland.
