    Beckham & His MLS Team

Just watched the press conference stating that Beckham is to become an owner of a football team in the MLS.

    And it'll be in Miami

At the moment the closest team to us is over 1,000 miles away. Now it'll only be 120 miles away from my house. Right on my bloody doorstep

nice one Taans! They break ground on the new Atlanta stadium soon and the intent is to get an MLS team in there once completed . Not a certainty, but one can hope !

As far as I can tell, Alf, he's putting up some money and a consortium is fronting the majority.

It's a growing sport over here. The tv companies don't love it because they can't have an advert every ten minutes but it gets more popular with people all the time. Most under the age of 30 know the big clubs & big playerss.

Some of them have even heard of Tottenham

And they all know West Ham from the movie Green Street

But the teams are mainly scattered about with the West Coast having most due to the Hispanic influence there.

Hopefully the team will get the fans it need. Florida fans are a fickle bunch.

I will be atteneding a game (assuming I still live in Florida then) with Flairon. You'll probably be able to hear that c.unt all the way from London

I think it's still 3/4 years away yet though. - view external link
