Do FA 'rules' allow them to impose a ban on a player who wasn't sent off? Not sure. Vague recollection that there was a situation where that actually happened but for the life of me I can't remember what![]()

The FA have backed down and have agreed to an arbitration meeting re AC's red card. Scheduled for 11am Friday.
This time the three man panel will consist of one from us, Swansea and an as yet unnamed other.
Even if AC don't get off you can bet your bottom dollar Flores is for the high jump!- view external link

Could they not just fling a huge bringing the game into disrepute charge at him? I'm sure that will carry the appropriate penalties.
Great idea. Trouble is, would any c.unt in the FA think of that?
Hmmm tough question. I would surmise that the answer would be no.Originally Posted by SwearryThierry53

Video evidence shows for anyone interested that Flores clearly deceived Howard Webb into believing he had been hit by a vicious elbow full in the face when it's obvious carrolls forearm barely brushes his forehead.
Having viewed said video evidence knowing full well he had been conned by Flores, Howard Webb should of admitted he was conned and that on reflection maybe a yellow card apiece was the best course of action, and the majority of people would of said fairplay you f ucked up but at least you held your hands up to it, but because most refs act like complete tools and think that 35000 people have turned up to watch them his pride kicked in.
So now it looks like the FA will now overturn there original decision but here lies the problem because two out of the three teams we are due to play are relegation rivals

Good points, and exactly a good reason for a shake up of the system. This will probably continue now with every suspect decision, so its high time everybody got together and sorted the whole thing out. Come up with rules and punishments that cant be renedged on. Both parties, the clubs and the F.A have to draft something out they can both be happy with. Because as it stands the system stinks.
While I don't think we should be doing this, I do agree that the system needs shaking up. For far too long certain referees seem to think the game is for them to show off. Webb is probably still our top one but is becoming too big for his boots.Originally Posted by jon15u
A fairer system would be to increase the panel and have a member of your own club on it to argue their case. There are too many old farts in the FA with their headmaster mentality.
