Official West Ham v Southampton Thread

we are on a roll, but this is a tough encounter.

the starting lineup should be the same as last week, which i think was the same as the week before. don't mess with a winning formula.

    adrian
    demel tomkins collins mccartney
    downing noble taylor jarvis
    nolan
    cole

soton have a great team on paper, and started the season on fire. their form has been up and down of late, but as they are quite comfortably in the top half of the table, i'm hoping that they will be a little complacent.

    head to head:
    west ham - 19
    draw - 19
    southampton - 21

i've been backing draws for our last three games, and we've won them all, so i will continue and say it will finish 1-1.

    Hello mate, hope you're well.

I'll go for a draw too (0-0), surely another win is too much to expect.

Hate to be pessimistic but...I can see an away win. Southampton played a less than full strength side in the FA Cup and manager came in for criticsm. I expect them to be revved up for this one.

On the other hand, we have had a nice break in Dubai, our players are rested, in fine form, confidence is high, have kept four clean sheets and have Adrian in goal.

    I've talked myself around...it happens...2-0 home win.

Sad that one of those little chances of a glimmer of excitement has disappeared with Ravel being out of the picture.

Another boring afternoon in prospect... this time without the consolation of a point I fear. Southampton are a cut above our last few opponents and I'm sure will get a goal or two.

Oh,for a bit of attacking flair. Can we try for Modrich in the Summer? Real Madrid owe us one. for taking Faubert back.

Well i said Norwich werent going to be a walk over, and but for the grace of God, and Adrian (are they one and the same?!) we would have lost that game.Cant take any praise from the defence either but...

This one is a harder fixture, and i would like to see us take all 3 but im going to be optimistic and go for a draw. 1-1

Nice sentiment but one man supplied the sublime cross to Ginge & that man also scored. He deserves a start.

probably the game where we need Carroll the most imo,
would have tipped us to beat them if he was available, without?

a draw at best methinks, 2-2 sounds realistic.

I remember taking the missus to her first West Ham night game against Southampton. Kevin Keegan came to town a drew a big crowd. We were squashed to bits and lost 4-3 (I think that was the score)
