    Roberto Martinez has hailed Duncan Ferguson as the “full package” after promoting the former Blues hero to his first-team coaching staff.

    The Scot will be stepping up to join Martinez’s core backroom team from Monday, after impressing with his work coaching the club’s U18s alongside Kevin Sheedy over the last year.

    Ferguson’s appointment has already proved a popular move with the club’s supporters who still hold him in high esteem from his playing days, but Martinez insists he has selected the 42-year-old for his qualities as a coach first and foremost.
