Can SMcC Change the course of history?

I know it's only Tuesday but I couldn't resist having a peep at the last few seasons' results against Burnley. Just as over recent seasons we've had the hoodoo on Leeds and Sheffield Wed, so Burnley have on us.

As we know, it doesn't make for a fun read:
    Season Home Away
    2006/07 W: 1-0 D: 0-0
    2007/08 No Fixture
    2008/09 D: 1-1 L: 0-3
    2009/10 No Fixture
    2010/11 L: 2-4 L: 1-2
    2011/12 L: 1-2 D: 0-0
    2012/13 L: 1-2 L: 0-2
    2013/14 L: 1-3 Saturday

    The aggregated figures read: P11 W1 D3 L7 Gf8 Ga19.
On this basis, I think we need to go to Burnley with an emphasis on winning the game. Surely, it's time to change the trend. What say you?

I think McClaren aims to win every game anyhow, he may tinker a little acccording to the team he faces. though so far I'd say he sets out with what he thinks is his strongest team and then changes personnel and tactics accoridng to how the game goes.

Its ahrd to argue when a teams winning, and Ok the perfromances have been scrappy at time, but then this is the business end of the season and the result is more important than the performance.

As I see it apart from keeping the ball on the floor what would he change?

Stevie and his management team are getting loads of praise for how they change things round at half time or in the second to address the oppositions strengths.
Examples such as last Saturday with Bournemouth having the better of the first half,Wednesday being on top in the first half, Yeovil being 2 up at half time, Blackburn being in front, Birmingham taking the lead.
It is great credit to the team for being able to turn the games around but why do we struggle so much in the first half of games in the last month?
We have not been on the front foot in these games and have got off to slow starts recently.

If we are not straight in to it from the first minute on Saturday I fear the worse. If Burnley get in front we will be hard pressed to rescue the game and I do not see Burnley giving up a lead so easily.

Very good points and very well made. You're right...the trend has been on great recovery or at least finishing strongest
