I watched 20 minutes of the first half...jeez, what a waste of 20 minutes of my life.
Dire is not a strong enough word to describe the performance. No inspiration. No talent. Notghing.

U21 and B matches are 100% waste of time. Pointless.

What's needed is better coaching, and that can mean not over coaching the players and letting them play their natural game, not being scared to try things.

Take away u21, u18 and this suggestion of B matches as it achieves nothing. Let the youngsters train with freedom and stop turning them into clones. Put any team at any standard in a competitive match and winning becomes the be all and end all, massively against player development. Our youth players are just learning to be effective in a position, in a style of play, rather than learning to play football.

Games? over 100 players on west hams books, let them play against each other and occasionally they can arrange friendlies against other teams that are older (i.e west ham u16 aginst joe bloggs

Have a read of this sir TB, I think it adds to your point of view.

When things are structured like that, there ain't much hope of playing to players strengths - view external link
