    Mason Bennett

Sky sports reporting he's gone on loan to chesterfield. Having watched how poor we were without Martin on sat and how poor sammon is in general. Does this leave us a little short of options, should Martin get injured or suspended again. I feel a loan striker could be a good idea. Not sure who would be available though

Didn't Clough go on record as to say he didn't want to loan him to a league two side because he was already too good for that division? And with McClaren giving him a decent-ish amount of game time (for a 17 year old) I'm quite surprised at this.

Maybe it's for the best though. From the bench we've seen him murder Aaron Cresswell; the best left back in the division and he absolutely took apart Ashley Cole. For some reason though he struggles when he starts. Is this because his pace and power exploits the tired defenders? Probably. Perhaps a loan spell against less talented and more physical opposition will wise him up to how best to utilise his body.

I think the simple answer is he needs to be playing games to gain experience and playing at any level will only help him which in turn will help us

Im sure we will have a 24 hour recall included

judging on how he looked against milwall I'm not the least bit surprised.

he's flattered to deceive this season in my opinion. he's had loads of chances but looked completely out of his depth on most appearances but showing the odd glimmer of what he's capable of in others.

definitely needs first team football. he's got the attributes but needs to improve his awareness in particularly as he gets caught in possession too often. he needs to get up to the speed of professional football which will come with experience.

Hope he gets plenty of game time.

Find it slightly odd that according to his quote in DET that Mason said 'When my agent asked if I wanted to go to Chesterfield...'

Surely SMc would of spoken to Bennett for about the move, rather than call his agent? Or am I just over thinking things!?
