    Burton replacement

I was beginning to think the reason we didn't bring in an experienced forward who could play the Burton role was because Swann had tightened the purse strings.

It turns Russ has the backing to get a loan player as and when. So what are we waiting for and why on earth did he choose Alabi who quite clearly cannot play that role.

I still think we have and are having a great season, but that was like a turning point when the decision was taken not to try to bring in a similar player to Deon Burton when the way we played that brought the good results hinged on having a front man of that type, but there is no point looking back now at what might have been the chairman is right, get behind the club for the last ten games draw specialists or not we need to limp over the line preferably sprint. But things won't change simply by getting behind them. It's not too late to bring someone in who can play the Burton role. If we don't do that it will be our own fault if we limp towards the finish line only to fall flat on our faces inches short of victory.
