    tazzy - camera stuff

As you mention you'd really like a professional camera for your sports photography you'll need summat that has no shutter-lag (noticeable in your FF 4200S )and capable of taking several shots per second onto a very fast memory card. It will need to produce very clear shots at high ISO values (for use in low light) and be a capable performer at speeds of 1/1000 sec or faster. This is what most of the photographers are using for ball and motor-sports. - view external link

The first lens you should add to it is this one. It's very fast at f2.8 but you'll often need that amount of light to cope will 1/1000 sec, especially at night. - view external link

Of course, to capture action that's closer to you (boxing, or goalmouth action when you're only feet away) you'll also need one of these. - view external link

A girl that works for me is an photography student and she has that quality off of camera Griff, she also has all sorts of lenses and flashes ect off of similar quality. She works a fair few hours for me to help pay for the stuff and also works (for free) with an wedding photographer for the experience. I predict that she'll go far in her chosen career as she has a good work ethic and dedication.

Of course, with that many pixels at your command you can easily crop photos from a shot taken at 200mm at, say, f8 @ 1/1000, but there will be times when the action is quite distant (the other end of the pitch perhaps)and you can't trust your hand not to shake, so one of these will also be a requirement if you're not to miss a ***** shot. You may, of course, scoff at the slower f4 to f5.6 that the lens offers, but as you'll know, you can get around that with a camera of this quality by increasing the ISO, losing only a small amount of image quality. - view external link

Then, when your is on the lips of newspaper editors all over the world, and you have your own business selling your prints to discerning customers, you'll add one of these. - view external link

Indeed Pents, a bag-full of stuff will also be needed to cope with every eventuality. The bag will have to be copious to contain the vast range of accessories needed to avoid missing that ***** shot. It should be portable and very strong, offering protection to the valuable goods inside. Many are available for around the 200 quid mark. Also needed will be a laptop and the wi-fi gear needed to instantaneously download images so that they can be sorted and sent to base quickly. Probably in the range of 800 to 1200 notes for that lot. A flash will rarely be needed at these distances from the action; indeed some events ban them. But it would be wrong to travel without one. It will need to be radio-trigger enabled so that it can also work off-camera so I've suggested one below.

Add to these a few filters - professionals use Lee - a polariser, some grads to hold back the sky, UV fo

In case you're wondering why I'm telling you this tazzy, I'm simply a keen amateur, using one of these. I don't aspire to professional sports photography and it's a younger man's game anyway so I'm happy with my Nikon. I still know how to take a reasonable shot though.

So, by all means piss your dreams up against an Eastern-European wall; it's your choice. Or get that Finepix off automatic, set it to aperture-priority (if you can) and experiment with landscapes. Experiment with different ISO and aperture settings. Then set it to shutter-priority and take images of moving objects. In other words, learn a bit about photography. Then, if you find it to your taste, upgrade to a decent modern DSLR. You never know, one day you might achieve your dream, and the taxpayers of the UK will welcome you into their company with open arms. Or aim for the Czech wall, and we'll all keep on calling you an ****. - [url=http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/products/nikon/d7000-dig
