Thorne in the side for Red Dogs?

With John Eustace picking up a 10th yellow and being suspended for next week, should SMcC pick Thorne versus the Red Dogs?

Or is he too green and should we alter the formation in some other way?

I think we should play him.

I was wondering about this. Whoever else we play in the holding role doesn't quite fit the bill. So it's tempting to play him. Just depends on whether he can cope with the big occasion and the physical confrontation. Shteve will have a good idea on this and he must have brought him in for just such an occasion. I would play him and find out.

Interesting selection dilema. I would agree with you and go with Thorne with strict instructions to shield the back four.

I really don't like Hendrick in that position as it's his not natural for him and we lose our shape with him in there.

Supposedly Thorne's stats during his spell at Watford were very good, ahead of Eustace's in fact for possession and tackling. So he could do well.

Without doubt play him, rather have him as an holding midfield player than Hendrick or Hughes, also he'll be biting at the bit to get his chance and secure his place.

We just don't know how he has been performing in training, and what his attitude has been like. I don't get why he has not been played yet (even going to the lengths of playing hughes deep), there could easily be a good reason why MC hasn't picked him yet.
