Does anyone remember that crucial game when Hope put York ahead? Green(2)and the mighty Kemp scored to save the season in front of 14288.

Most certainly do remember winning and securing div 3 safety,the euphoric pitch invasion,players in the south stand throwing their shirts into the crowd.A picture of the bare chested Paul Cahill being quoted as saying next season would be different,he was right,we got relegated.
footnote. another thing i remember that day ,was a banner draped over the Milton end scoreboard lauding the caretaker manager with a paraphrase of a current tv programme.Jim 'l fix it!
If Mr Barker doesnt fix it he will be about as popular as Jim,and thats not Dickenson!

We still refer to them as the Y fronts such was the impression it left on a young Sui.

14th of May that was, Our team was
Lloyd, Roberts, Wilson, Piper, Denyer, Cahill, Green, Kamara, Kemp, Gilchrist and Mellows.
Green 2 and Kemp scored our goals as Biley posted.

here's one for you lovedean,see if you can tell me the pompey team for my first pompey game I saw when I was 6 in 1972,preston n e away,we lost 4-0,its a tester for you but I bet you can tell me

Didn't take long Daz on Pompey Rama, getting logged on here did though

11th March Ron Tindell's team did indeed lose 4.0. Team was Milkins, Fred Smith, Collins, Wilson, Hand, Youlden, Piper, Reynolds, Trebilcock, Ley and Hiron... Ray Pointer who had been out for nearly 3 months came on as sub for Collins

Ray Pointer only figured in 4 more games that season, they were all defeats too

thanks for that ldb,i vaguely remember milkins and piperss,anyway back to York on Saturday,nothing more than 3pts please after that performance up at their place its the least they can do,im working on sat up on west coast of Cumbria,il have my radio on from 3,please pompey please make us all happy,then Rochdale Tuesday 4 me,PLAY UP POMPEY

Trying to recall a game against Forest circa 1973/4 when a so called DUNCAN MCKENZIE scored the only goal. Possibly my first game. Forest wore cherry red shorts and white shirts.
