    Ears syringed

    Has anyone had that done?

I'm going at half one today to get it done as for about a week I cannae hear out my right ear. I've put drops in as instructed by the surgery to soften the wax.

I'm not looking forward to it as my ear is quite sore and was wondering if it is just a syringe of water put in your ear to clear the wax?

I've been wanting to get it done for a few years after I failed a medical for a job because of my hearing. No idea what it involves though. Is it the hospital or your local GP that does it?

It's a nurse at my local GP's surgery that is doing it.

I will let you know how I get on

Apparently it's worse than having to listen to the whole Skyless album

It is a piece of **** and you will be in and out in 10 mins if getting both done.

I get my ears syringed about every 6 months due to narrow canals which makes the build of of wax near my ear drum happen more often.

They will not syringe your ear if it is red or sore as you will have to come back.

They just basically put a jet of warm water in your ear to remove the wax that should be softened by the ear wax softner that you have been using.

Only side affect you may have although I have never is that you may feel dizzy while getting it done but I think chances of that are slim.

It may be uncomfortable but not sore.

Did you? That's mental. Were you applying to be a fighter pilot?

Not quite. I still got the job because I had passed the same medical with a different company 6 months previously and she knew the wumin who had passed me so she contacted her for my notes.
