    Andre Marriner

I thought he would have been given this weekend off after his big balls up at Stamford Bridge. However the PL obviously want him back in the action so he has been appointed to St Mary's for the visit of Newcastle on Saturday

    re: Andre Marriner

Marriner can't have seen the handball or he would have signaled penalty immediately. the assistant didn't see it as he was standing still with his flag down, if he had seen something he would have been signaling goal kick corner or penalty.
it must have been clear to the ref that something had happened from the reaction of the players etc. for some reason he decided to give the penalty but who did it?
must have been the left back,Gibbs, who was in the box at the time. wrong.
i think someone told him part or all of what happened and got it wrong. as usual it will be covered up because referees can't be shown up as he would be if what i think happened occurred.
anyone can make mistakes, this was pretty blatant. if he acted on another word and doesn't say so then that is very wrong. i don't think he is very good anyway.
