A mesmerising achievement, Pogue, and I feel "oor Neil" might be getting a letter from auld Lizzie at the end of the year to fully recognise this outstanding title win.

Feck knows how many records Celtic have beaten in the league this season but another one is that they claimed the fastest Scottish title win in 85 years when they sealed their crown with a resounding a 5-1 win over Partick Thistle last night.
It is the earliest the Scottish top flight title has been won since 1928/29.
A lot to live up to in the SPFL next season for Neil's record breaking Celtic side.

I am not sure that you quite fully understand the meaning of the term "record breakers".
You entitled your opening post with the grandiose heading of Celtic Record Breakers and then proceeded to explain why they are not record breakers in this instance.
I am not aware of whether or not the team that won the league in 1928/29 hold the record for the quickest ever league title win in the top flight of the Scottish Football League but the fact that they won it quicker than the current Celtic team means that Celtic did not break the record last night.

If you think Oor Neil would take a knighthood you are very much mistaken, Mr AJ.
I have just had my 6th can of the morning, and I'm waiting for the Arrigo Sacchis to start serving that sweet liquor. Talking to a guy at the game last night, and he was saying, what we're achieving just now makes living through 90s worth it.
A rousing chant of You Are My Larsson was belted out, and some of the party tunes that are usually reserved for Tynecastle were sang with gusto. Cracking night.
I might sound like a dick here, Pogue, but I'm happy we won it at a place like Firhill. It was the same faces you see everywhere. We deserve it, getting out our scratchers at 8 in the morning to travel all over the country to watch s[i][b]
The Celtic supporters won't admit it on here, but that must have been a fairly hollow feeling, winning that title last night.
Hopefully some of the other teams can put up a wee bit more of a fight next season but given their relative wealth, I won't be holding my breath.

Absolute *******s, mook.
Any Celtic fan that lived through the 90s is loving this just now. I hope you're fishing, mook?

I suspect that the minority who follow the club purely for the football will be the only ones that might have reservations about celebrating this championship.
It didn't sound it watching the game last night Mook.Originally Posted by Mook1

Another good win for your team last night. You never know you might be celebrating winning the league as well
Fair enough, Danny.Originally Posted by DannyBhoy

I'd say the same about Bayern Munich pyshing it in Germany too, hoovering up all the talent & winning the league two months before it's finished when everyone knew where it was going in August. We all know where both titles are going next year too, it's boring.
