    hillsborough inquest

    starting next week.

already 11 police officers have been questioned in matters relating to manslaughter, perverting the course of justice etc.

hopefully we can get all the truth and those responsible for covering up what really did happen will get their due punishment and loss of pensions while the victims families get closure and huge financial compensation.

Those responsible should be put away.

i agree 100%. also official cause of death changed on the death certificate from accidental death to manslaughter.

i feel there is huge pressure on this enquiry to deliver the right result.

News saying this morning that 13 coppers are suspects in the investigation, 12 are retired with one still serving.

They should be charged, have their pensions taken off them/wages stopped, and have the book thrown at them.

Its time police were given the message that they will be held responsible for their actions, and the Nurenburg defence of 'I was just following orders' is not a defence.

I always feel uncomfortable punishing people for human error. It doesn't sit well with me.

    Human error?

The way they treated those football fans, and subsequently the families of the 96 was not human, ergo they could not have made a human error.

Human error on the actual day yes but the cover up was not human error. That was criminal.

Sorry gents I'm not dismissing this as just human error was talking in a broader sense. The whole idea of people taking comfort from seeing another person punished doesn't really sit well with me.
