Celtic did what no other Scottish team could do, of course, when we won the Champions League, or "European Cup", as it was then known.
But can Celtic ever do it again?
I think so, but not within the current Scottish league setup.
Celtic need to be planted in a larger pot to grow to our full potential.
We have a worldwide marketing appeal, but to leverage that, we need serious league structure reform across Europe.

The way modern fitba is now unless you have A?100m a season to spend on players you stand little or no chance.Originally Posted by JimmyHaze
Aye, both good points, Gentlemen.
Cant see any other Scottish team than Celtic competing in The Champions League this decade never mind winning it.
I think it's a given that when we're talking about "Scotland", we're really talking about Celtic.
I don't think you'll find anyone except the odd psychopath who would try to argue with that.
But, we're not simply going to admit we're stuck in this desperate scottish league, are we? Surely, there must be a way out?
theres no point in celtic in winning the champions league, it would be tainted without rangers in the splif league.
Of course no Scottish team have won the Champions League , Rangers being the closest but so far away.
Fc Yahoo did win the very old out-dated European Cup against a team of reserves, even though, only hyped by Yahoos. They rank alongside the greats like Aston Villa, Feyenoord, with Nottingham Forest ranked higher.
bless em'

Get yourself sectioned - that might work.
Yet dead rangers never managed to win the european cup and clearly it still hurts as spare pryck's post shows.Originally Posted by SpareRibs
