    D_D's Player Ratings V H'Field Not

    Grant 8
Not to blame for the goal. Pulled off a crucial save at 0-1when he raced out after a dreadfully lazy back pass by Buxton {hence 8}. Other than that hardly got his shirt dirty.
    Wisdom 7
A bit better than the usual from Andre. Apart from the odd stray pass, he was very solid and ventured forward better. Produced a c-ocky moment when he received the ball and did 6 keepy-uppy-ies on the half-way line before passing it on.
    Keogh 6
Below par. Blazed over from 6 yards when it was easier to score after 5 minutes. A couple of mis-placed passes. Made up to some extent with some penetrating runs into the opposition half. Should have geea'd the team up in the last 25 minutes to step up the tempo; instead it was sideways passing par excellence, and we all fell asleep.
Buxton 6 The bearded buccaneer did his usual excellent stuff, apart from the lazy backpass which could have really balls the game up. You cannot make a single mistake like that.

Can we have Johnny R back on a season's loan please?

Clearly missing him as we are in Cup Final.

Guess you will be back looking for more bargains - A£700k , I thought that Robin Hood was further south?

Glad he is doing ok after 3 bad injuries in 15 months.

Well, I disagreed with the infamous 'Baz'. Although I do agree it was unnecessary for RD to shout him down, simply because although I disagreed with him (and yourself Ella), I could at least appreciate his point of view.

For me, the game was over at 3-1 against 9 men and there was nothing to be gained by pushing at a high tempo to get more goals. Our GD is already good enough against those teams who it might be needed against, unless people think we can still catch Burnley - I don't.

As far as I was concerned, take the foot off he gas, don't risk any injury, save a bit of energy in the tank.

And unlike most people, I tought we still played some nice stuff in some latter stages. We didn't need to go all out for more goals, we could just keep the ball, pass it around and probe the defence and if chances came along try and take them. And we nearly did.

I don't get too fussed about demanding entertainment via performances to be honest when it comes to football. If I did then I would pr

Yet thats what Clough used to do even in games where we had 30 mins left and were 3-0 up! I detcect a hint of Clough envy here!

Foer the record i thought that bloke was a complete tool, moaning when the team had won 3-1! OK so they took the foot off the gas but thats the 3rd game in a week (I heard him say poor footballers - bet he was a lazy fat git who couldnt run 5 yards never mind a few miles over 7 days!!).

McClaren ahs given us more entertainment over the past 7 months than Clough managed in 4 plus years! Its only natural for players to ease off when in control and knowing that they dont want an injury or booking.

IF we'd done the same against Birmingham when 3-1 up, we might have two more points on the board, plenty crticised the gung ho tactics when we didnt need to. FFS some need a reality check, we are 3rd in the league and nailed on for a play off place what more do you want!!

To be fair to catch Burnley we'd need to win 4 games and them lose 4 games... If that happens with a 4 goal difference we can't do anything but match their Gd and our superior goals scored comes in.

But we ain't catching them so save your legs for the playoffs

    you sure you're a maths teacher ;-)

8 points ahead but we have a better relative goal difference.

so 4 wins for us and 1 win, 1 draw and 2 losses for burnley would see us promoted automatically.

not that I'm suggesting for a minute it's gonna happen. they've got ings back and I expect them to beat blackpool easily.

as for the ratings. I don't think forsyth was at fault for the goal. sure he should have stopped the cross coming in but it's inevitable low crosses will come across the box. you could fault pretty much the whole defence for that goal bar bucko. Keogh didn't intercept when better positional sense may have had him doing. grant made a pointless dive f
