    guess the manager

Your team travels to the champions elect, who are expecting to be crowned that very afternoon after winning the match.

Unexpectedly, your team find themselves two up when after a rush of blood to the head your goalkeeper gets sent off half way through the first half.
The Champions elect then get a goal back before half time.
Down to ten men, the manager re organises the team with a substitution.

Champions elect get a second goal.
Unfortunately, (for the champions elect) the script had obviously not been read and your team are on top and score again with good flowing football, upsetting the commentators who have the usual top team bias and predicting celebrations.

At this point I had to go out but they held on to win the game 2 - 3

Any idea of the game, and more importantly the winning manager, we should go get him!

Its strange as thats the way I remember it, but I checked with the BBC to get my facts right as Im an old fart these days and memory is not what it was.
Before posting it I originally wrote Braintree were 3 up but revised it after checking even though I thought it was somehow wrong !

Devo doing a great job at Braintree. He was a quality player.Never forget that goal against Wrexham away 1979.Parkes rolled the ball out to Devo(Yes under Lyall,we did that a lot).Devo went past one, past another, past another and so on.All the way up the pitch,b4 rounding the goalkeeper, then putting the ball in the net.I did try to find the goal.I wonder if any of you smart arses can find it?
