    The National Mourning continues unabashed...

For God sake when is this country going to stop mass mourn fests fed by the media any time they can come up with a memorial date. This obsession to let "everyone join in"... is a very sad aspect of life in this country. I find it a wholly sickening obsession. People die every day and in many tragic ways , every one utterly devastating to those who knew and love them, but where is the national outpouring for them?

No one can possibly understand what the families and friends went through and continue to grieve but does the entire country need to join in.

To me this media led obsession to take part cheapens and de values those poor folks memory.

It'shard tae judge. I do some work in Warrington so need tae be careful what I say doon there. But the angle is that the lies of the polis and the media differentiate it and I get that but I personally would have let it go. It must be killing the relatives all this stress. I just wish they remembered heysel in the same way

It might help if the people of Liverpool were reacting in the way that we've been instructed to.

I worked there not long after Hillsborough and copies of The Sun were flying oot the shops. This was contrary to what we were told about it being snubbed following the disgraceful headlines and stories published in it about Hillsborough.

Mook didnt believe me when I stated this before, but Ive got no reason to fib about it.

By the way I stayed in Aintree/Fazarkely.

    I agree with the OP.

I would also point out to ITB that we have been through The S*n thing a number of times & I did believe him. There is a boycott on Merseyside but to think that everyone would partake in it would be naive to say the least. Never great when another poster twists your words months & years down the line.

Nae bother, I certainly never said that no one in Liverpool bought The S*n, I think we've probably gotten our wires crossed somewhere along the line.
