It is imperative we beat Shrewsbury as they have two hard games (on paper anyway) against Preston and Peterborough.

Again imperative we beat Colchester they have one tricky game at Brentford, but Walsall away wont be easy.

Notts County seem to have the easier run in they are currently outside of the bottom 4.

    Carlisle have a tr

Looking at the fixtures, I totally agree with both statements/predictions. Stevenage and Shrewsbury look in trouble and Carlisle and Colchester have difficult run-ins BUT it depends on us beating both Shrewsbury and Colchester. I think that 49 points will be enough if we win those two games.

Even if we do win the two games against the Shrews and Colchester, 49 points might not be enough simply because of our goal difference. I reckon we need at least 50, possibly 51 points. I would hate it to go down to the last game, with us having to beat Preston by a hat full and AN OTHER having to lose heavily. That could well happen. Problem is, that last game is Preston. Now they might just want to win that one, so they meet their preferred semi-finalist in the play-offs. It is all ifs and buts at present.

Have had the old relegation run-in spreadsheet out myself, taking in to account everyone up to Gillingham.

Have to agree that Shrewsbury and Stevenage look doomed. If the results go as I think, then there could still be five teams battling to avoid the last two relegation spots on the last day - us, Notts County, Carlisle, Tranmere and Colchester. Sadly, think we won't get anything against Preston and Carlisle won't get anything at Wolves and that'll be it.

Mind, football is a funny old game, so who knows...?

At least it keeps the interest up till the end of the season. No boring meaningless games for us.

Agree Teammoo it does make it interseting and if you could guarantee the outcome ie league 1 survival you would take this inetersting end to the season.

But next season please can I have some boring meaningless games to enable me to recover from this season

Obviously wins against Shrews and Col U are pretty much essential, however it could be a good time to play Bristol City (pretty much nothing to play for I imagine when we play them) whereas Preston could well be in the position of having automatic promotion out of reach and probably wont be wanting to pick up injuries for their play off games...

Anyhow, hard fought 2-0 win for us tomorrow

Well Good Friday certainly lived up to its. A fantastic result for us together with defeats for Notts County, Tranmere Stevenage Colchester made the table look so much better for us than it did at 3.00.

What is also interesting is that both Carlisle and Tranmere goal difference is getting much closer to ours.

Monday again is a massive game another win and we go above Colchester. Depending on Coventrys result they would also be pulled back in to the mix although personally I think the teams involved are those I stated above.

I'd love to see Notts County drop, if only because of their ticket pricing policy when we played at Meadow Lane and even though it is a local for me. Carlisle I'd like to stay up: Leypb (an intelligent and thoughtful poster on here) has worked out that, as he will be in Scotland, that will be his nearest match!

I'd also like us to be playing Chesterfield and Burton, but I have given up hope of facing Northampton. All locals for the East Midlands Brigade.

Pretty pointless trying to guess who'll drop when teams are so closely grouped together, unless they're well adrift like Steven Edge.Of the remaining fixtures there will be one or two unexpcted results that will totally disrupt any attempts at clairvuoyancy.Just look at The Mackems last two.
