    Danny: Into The Fire

Saw you mentioning this the other night. I watched it last night, first time I'd seen it since it went oot in 86.

Brought back a few memories. I was at the 4-4 game and also the game at Kilbowie which Rangers lost.

The first OF game under Souness' reign was a Glasgow Cup Final at Ibrox on a Friday night. Rangers won 3-2 (think McCoist got a hat-trick).

I didn't see the thread, itb, accept my sincerest and humblest apologies. I've not seen it in ages, but the whole thing is on Youtube so I've got it on my 'To do' list.

Why was a Celtic v rangers game played at Kilbowie?

No problem at all my friend, I thought it was just an administrative error on your part.

No, the 4-4 game was at Ibrox under Jock Wallace. The first game under Souness' regime was v Clydebank at Kilbowie. Souness wasnt actually there. If he was he might have chucked it straight away

Was the first game with Souness not at Easter Road against Hibs, and Souness got sent off?

No, that was the first game of the 86-87 season. Jock W got the sack after a disastrous friendly against Spurs in 85-86 and there were still about 5 games to go.
Rangers limped to UEFA Cup qualification. I think Walter Smith represented Souness as he still had to finish up at Sampdoria.

I was at the 4-4 game I think. My H[size="3"]un mate was getting married that day and let me have his ticket. F knows why he arranged the wedding for during the season.

Only OF derby game I've ever been to. Rangers were pish at the time but Celtic couldn't beat them . Strange game.

the 4-4 game i remember well. it was the first scottish game on the tv for months due to a strike.

celtic needed to win all thier remaining 9 games as hearts were ahead and coasting to the title.

celtic were 3-1 up in the game but conceded 3 in 11 mins to go 4-3 down, but hit back for a draw.

celtic had no chance of the title after this game according to many but remarkably won all their 8 remaining games to pip hearts on the final day.

I was at both those games too, the 4-4 draw everyone cheered at end never seen that before or since in an old firm game

The Glasgow Cup final we had just won the league in Paisley and Souness was just made manager
