Maybe read up on the situation before asking loads of pointless questions.
All to do with the various owners, the council, local landlords and a lack of foresight.
Also, Liverpool have never been open to a groundshare with Everton.

shouldnt they had done this years ago.
they have watched many other clubs(most with much fewer resources) increase capacity of stadiums or build brand new stadiums, costing a lot of money but paying dividends in the long run.
they have watched their bitter rivals man utd pull ahead by around 30,000 capacity wise and for years they didnt have the foresight to follow suit.
they just didnt want 4 or 5 years of hardship during the building or renovation process, and instead have cost thierselves big in the long term.
liverpool should have speculated about increasing anfield as far back as the mid 90,s when it became apparent many other clubs were forging ahead and they werent destined to win the title any more.
they even wanted funding to get a stadium built for both them and everton to share.
why didnt they spend their own money like everyone else had to do to get a bigger stadium then they might not have had to wait 24(possibly more) years before they saw a title win.
heed in

OFFS Mook looks like you've contracted some ****tiness from your brother. I honestly expected a lot better from you.
This is a football message board where folk ask football related questions in the hopes of getting the "inside track" rather than having to read through reams of stuff on google and press to get the answers.
I think Liverpoo missed a trick in only having a capacity of 46K ish for years. I think there was talk of building a whole new stadium which probably put any possibility of expansion on hold.
Now they're looking certs for the title (and all the resulting finances and interest) it looks an oppertune time to up their capacity by nearly 25%
I think Arsenal have something like 60K capacity which is generating a lot of money for them and I'd expect them to become a regular trophy winning team in the coming years as well.
I've noticed ATimIKnow asking a lot of silly questions on here.
