Official West Bromich Albion v West Ham United Match Thread

West Brom defender Liam Ridgewell will miss at least two matches with the knee injury he suffered in the defeat by Manchester City on Monday.

Fellow defender Gareth McAuley will have a fitness test after missing that game with a calf problem.

West Ham midfielder Matt Taylor has been given compassionate leave to be with his ill daughter.

On-loan forward Marco Borriello is sidelined, but defender Guy Demel could return after overcoming a virus.

Their first meeting with West Ham should have been memorable for more than just Nicolas Anelka's quenelle gesture; it was Albion's first 3-3 draw of the season and left West Ham a point off the bottom with humiliating cup defeats to Nottingham Forest and Manchester City just around the corner.

I think HamsterCheeks will be pushing the team in the last four games. He will want to push the 40+ points, so he can look good in the headmasters office at end of term.

Unless he, at the very least, matches last season's points total we will have gone backwards in spite of him being given reasonable funds to spend. Or squander depending on your point of view.

So 9 points from Albion and Man City away and Spurs at home. He has failed to build on last season's respectable effort and has taken us backwards instead.

Tomorrow? Probably an uninspiring defeat by the odd goal or, if we're lucky, a point.

But I would like to know what you have been drinking. I would like to get hold of some for my own consumption.
