The Shane Meadows documentary, finally got round to watching it, bloody marvellous.
Kind of wish I'd gone to Heaton Park now! Although that gig at Parr Hall looked ace.

Saw it last summer with my mate who came to Heaton Park with me
Went to Kingston and sat in a deserted cinema apart from 2 people who told us to sit with them, it turned out to be Mani's brother, thought he was just another Manc spinning a yarn but some research confirmed it was him.
I loved the film and this live footage is the highlight for me, gave me goosebumps in the cinema and still does every time i put the dvd on.
Will any new material ever see the light? as time goes by i have my doubts but if nothing else Heaton Park was the best gig i've ever been to.
Shane Meadows film is a fine document of what happened - view external link
Hoo yess Shotts.
That was different class tbf.
Fantastic!
I was only just asking my American movie buff mate if there's anything worth watching at the moment...I've not sat down and watched a film in ages...he had no recommendations!

There is method in the madness concerning me coming on this site.
Cheers Pents
I watched it last week too (thanks C4) and must admit to getting rather sentimental in it. Brought back so many memories from that period.
Whilst the Fools Gold finale was wonderful there were two moments that stuck out for me.
The first was this, the rehearsal footage of Waterfall. I don't know about anyone else but I found myself mesmerised by Reni's performance. He just makes a complicated drumming track together with backing vocals look so easy. Some really good family footage of him in the film too, shame he's such a difficult ****er with it. - view external link
But the real goose pimples hairs on back of neck moment was when they come on stage at Parr Hall. Their first live performance for 20 years and then the bass line from I Wanna Be Adored kicks in... - view external link
I liked the early footage of them when Ian Brown had a whiff of Morrissey about him. They sounded really good even then, unlike the Mondays (whom I love tbf) who sounded rubbish even at their peak!
To be fair, Brown has never been the greatest singer live, although he seems to have improved with age. The other 3 are tight as a badger's chuff though.
One of the best rhythm sections I've heard, as tight as the Blockheads imo.
